About MNR Helpline

Discover our story, meet our team, and learn why families across Minnesota trust our St Paul treatment center for compassionate addiction recovery care.

Our Story

Founded on Compassion, Built for Recovery

MNR Helpline was established in 2014 by a group of addiction medicine professionals and community advocates who recognized the pressing need for quality, patient-centered substance abuse treatment in the Twin Cities. What began as a small outpatient clinic on Grand Avenue has grown into a full-service, licensed addiction treatment center that serves individuals and families from across Minnesota and beyond.

Our founders understood that addiction is not a moral failing but a complex medical condition that demands comprehensive, evidence-based care delivered with genuine compassion. From the very beginning, MNR Helpline has been guided by the belief that every person struggling with substance use deserves dignity, respect, and a real chance at lasting recovery.

Today, our St Paul campus at 697 Grand Ave provides a complete continuum of care, from medically supervised detoxification to residential treatment, outpatient programs, and long-term aftercare planning. Our facility has helped thousands of individuals reclaim their lives, and our dedicated clinical team continues to raise the standard of addiction treatment in Minnesota.

Our Approach

Evidence-Based Treatment Philosophy

At MNR Helpline, we believe that effective addiction treatment addresses the whole person, not just the substance use. Our clinical team integrates the latest research in addiction medicine, behavioral health, and trauma-informed care to create individualized treatment plans that address the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of recovery.

Whole-Person Healing

Addiction rarely exists in isolation. Many of our patients arrive at our St Paul facility dealing with co-occurring mental health conditions, unresolved trauma, strained family relationships, and diminished physical health. Our treatment model addresses each of these areas through an integrated, multidisciplinary approach that promotes comprehensive healing.

Every patient at MNR Helpline receives a thorough biopsychosocial assessment upon admission. This evaluation informs a fully personalized treatment plan that evolves as the patient progresses through their recovery. Our clinical team meets regularly to review each case and adjust care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Our Facilities

Amenities & Accommodations

Our St Paul campus has been thoughtfully designed to create a warm, healing environment that promotes comfort and well-being throughout every stage of treatment.

Comfortable Accommodations

Our residential patients enjoy private and semi-private rooms that feel more like a retreat than a clinical setting. Each room is furnished with quality bedding, ample natural light, personal storage, and a private bathroom. Common areas feature inviting lounges, a library, outdoor patios, and landscaped walking paths where patients can reflect and recharge between sessions.

We believe that the physical environment plays a vital role in recovery. Our campus is designed to foster a sense of safety, calm, and community, giving patients the comfort they need to focus entirely on their healing.

Dining & Wellness

Nutrition is a cornerstone of recovery at MNR Helpline. Our on-site culinary team prepares three chef-crafted meals and healthy snacks daily, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. We accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and medically prescribed meal plans.

Beyond nutrition, our wellness programming includes yoga classes, guided meditation, art therapy workshops, fitness center access, and recreational activities. These offerings are designed to restore physical health, reduce stress, and introduce patients to healthy lifestyle habits that support long-term sobriety.

Patient Testimonials

Stories of Recovery & Hope

Hear from individuals and families who found healing at MNR Helpline's treatment center in St Paul, Minnesota.

I arrived at MNR Helpline broken, ashamed, and terrified of what my life had become. From the very first day at their St Paul facility, I felt a warmth and kindness that I had not experienced in years. The therapists and counselors in the residential program genuinely cared about my recovery, not just my symptoms. I am now over two years sober, and I can honestly say that walking through those doors on Grand Ave was the best decision I have ever made.
Michael T. Residential Treatment Program
The detox process was the part I dreaded most, but the medical staff at MNR Helpline made it as comfortable as humanly possible. The nurses checked on me constantly and the doctor adjusted my medications right away when I was struggling. Transitioning into residential treatment afterward felt natural, and I finally have hope for my future.
Christina L. Medical Detox & Residential
As a single parent, I could not take weeks away from my responsibilities, so the IOP program at MNR Helpline was exactly what I needed. The evening schedule gave me the flexibility to handle work and my kids during the day, and I still received serious, high-quality treatment. The group sessions were eye-opening, and my individual counselor helped me develop practical strategies I use every day.
Patricia W. Intensive Outpatient Program
For years, I tried to treat my addiction without addressing my depression and anxiety. Every previous attempt at sobriety failed because I was only dealing with half the problem. MNR Helpline's dual diagnosis program changed everything for me. The psychiatrist worked closely with my therapist to find the right medication, and for the first time, I felt like I was being treated as a whole person. I am now 18 months sober and managing my mental health better than I ever thought possible.
Anthony R. Dual Diagnosis Program
As a mother, watching my son struggle with addiction was the hardest experience of my life. MNR Helpline's family program helped us understand what he was going through and gave us the tools to support his recovery without enabling. The family therapy sessions brought us closer together than we have been in years, and I am forever grateful to this team.
